The AD7740 is a low-cost, ultrasmall synchronous Voltage-to-Frequency Converter (VFC) that operates from a single 3.0 V to 3.6 V or 4.75 V to 5.25 V supply, consuming 0.9 mA. It features an on-chip 2.5 V bandgap reference (overdrivable externally) and synchronous full-scale output frequency set by an external clock (crystal or CMOS-compatible). The device offers a maximum input frequency of 1 MHz, selectable buffered/high-impedance input, and true bipolar operation down to -150 mV without a charge pump. Available in 8-lead SOT-23 and MSOP packages, it requires minimal external components and includes automatic power-down. The AD7740 is designed for space-saving, low-cost applications with no trimming or calibration needed.
