The MAX220–MAX249 are +5V-powered, multichannel RS-232 drivers/receivers designed for EIA/TIA-232E and V.28/V.24 interfaces. They eliminate the need for a bipolar ±12V supply, enabling single-supply operation from +5V. Some models (MAX225, MAX233, MAX235, MAX245–MAX247) use no external components, saving board space. They feature integrated charge pump circuitry, low-power shutdown mode (5μW), and are available in a wide range of packages and temperature options from 0°C to +70°C up to -55°C to +125°C.
