MAX696CPE+ [Maxim]

The MAX696 and MAX697 are microprocessor supervisory circuits that provide power-supply monitoring and battery-control functions. They include reset output during power-up, power-down, and brownout conditions; watchdog timer; low-line and watchdog fault outputs; reset time adjustment; and power-fail warning. The MAX697 lacks battery-backup switching but includes write-protection pins (CE IN and CE OUT) for CMOS RAM or EPROM, and consumes less than 250 microamperes. The MAX696 features battery-backup switching for CMOS RAM. Both devices improve system reliability and accuracy compared to discrete solutions.
