The HCPL-7800(A) isolation amplifier family is designed for current sensing in electronic motor drives. It senses analog voltage drop from an external resistor, creating a differential output voltage proportional to motor current. It features high common-mode rejection (15 kV/µs), compact 8-pin DIP package, low gain drift (0.00025 V/V/°C), low input offset voltage (0.3 mV), 100 kHz bandwidth, and low nonlinearity (0.004%). It uses advanced sigma-delta A/D converter technology and fully differential circuit topology for precision and stability in high-noise environments. Suitable for motor phase and rail current sensing, inverter current sensing, switched-mode power supply signal isolation, and general-purpose current sensing and monitoring.
