VDRIVE2 [FTDI]

The VDrive2 module is based on the Vinculum VNC1L, the first of FTDI's Vinculum family of Embedded SoC USB host controller ICs. It handles USB Host Interface and data transfer functions, and with its inbuilt MCU and embedded Flash memory, it can encapsulate USB device classes. When interfacing to mass storage devices such as USB Flash drives, Vinculum transparently handles the FAT file structure and communicates via UART, SPI or parallel FIFO interfaces using a simple command set. The module is suitable for evaluation, development, and incorporation into finished products, with an enclosure and quantity discounts.
