The APEX II family provides programmable logic with up to 5,250,000 system gates, 67,200 logic elements, and up to 1,146,880 RAM bits. It features high-speed differential I/O support including True-LVDS (up to 1 Gbps) and Flexible-LVDS (up to 400 Mbps), and supports various memory interfaces such as DDR, QDR, and ZBT SRAM. The devices include enhanced embedded system blocks (ESBs) for memory functions (FIFO, Dual-Port+ RAM, CAM) and general-purpose PLLs for clock management. The architecture also includes advanced interconnect and is supported by the Altera Quartus II development system.
