The FLEX8000 family is a low-cost, high-density, register-rich CMOS programmable logic device family with usable gates from 2,500 to 16,000 and flip-flops from 282 to 1,500. It features in-circuit reconfigurability (ICR) via external configuration devices or intelligent controller, fully compliant with PCI 2.2 for 5.0-V operation, and built-in JTAG boundary-scan test circuitry. The MultiVolt I/O interface allows the core to run at 5.0V while I/O pins are compatible with 5.0-V and 3.3-V logic levels. Low power consumption is typical 0.5 mA in standby mode. The FastTrack Interconnect provides fast, predictable interconnect delays, and dedicated carry and cascade chains implement arithmetic and high-speed logic functions. The devices are supported by Altera's MAX+PLUS II development system.
