    Products Detail

    The XR16C864 integrates four enhanced 16C550 UARTs with independent control and configuration registers. Each channel features 128-byte transmit/receive FIFOs, programmable trigger levels, automatic hardware (RTS/CTS) and software (Xon/Xoff) flow control, IrDA 1.0 encoder/decoder, and a programmable baud rate generator supporting data rates up to 2 Mbps. The device operates from 2.97V to 5.5V, is pin-compatible with industry-standard ST16C554/654 and TL16C554N/TL16C754BFN, and supports both Intel and Motorola bus interfaces. Enhanced features include separate IrDA TX outputs, DMA interface, CHCCLK input for channel C, and sleep mode with low current consumption.
