The XRT7300 supports E3 (34.368 Mbps), DS3 (44.736 Mbps) or SONET STS-1 (51.84 Mbps) rates. In transmit direction, it encodes input data to B3ZS (for DS3/STS-1) or HDB3 (for E3) format and converts data into appropriate pulse shapes for transmission over coaxial cable via 1:1 transformer. In receive direction, it performs equalization, clock recovery, decoding from B3ZS/HDB3, converts data to TTL/CMOS format, checks LOS/LOL conditions, and detects line code violations. Contains 4-wire microprocessor serial interface for command register access.
