TinySwitch-III is a family of energy-efficient, off-line switchers with enhanced flexibility and extended power range. It combines a high-voltage power MOSFET switch with a power supply controller in one device, using simple ON/OFF control for output voltage regulation. Key features include selectable current limit via BP/M capacitor value, frequency jittering to reduce EMI filter costs, self-biased operation without bias winding, and enhanced safety features like hysteretic thermal shutdown, auto-restart, and line undervoltage detection. The devices offer tight I2f parameter tolerance, minimize max overload power, and provide constant efficiency down to very light loads, meeting global energy efficiency regulations with ultra-low no-load consumption (<150 mW without bias winding, <50 mW with bias winding).
