BU21021GUL is a resistive touch screen controller composed of 32-bit CPU, 12-bit SAR A/D converter, clock oscillator, and voltage regulators. It operates at a single power supply (2.7V to 3.6V) and detects X/Y coordinates, touch pressure in 1-point mode, and pairs of X/Y coordinates in 2-point mode. The controller recognizes multiple finger gestures from coordinate data variations and reports them to the host via gesture detection flags. It employs embedded CPU for noise filtering, coordinate calculation, and gesture detection. Features include auto power on/off function to reduce power consumption, selectable host interface (4-wire SPI or 2-wire serial), and firmware download capability via HOST interface or external EEPROM.
