The VIPer50/50A series is a primary-side integrated circuit for switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), combining a PWM controller with a high-voltage power MOSFET (620V or 700V, 1.5A). It features adjustable switching frequency up to 200 kHz, current mode control, soft start, automatic burst mode for stand-by operation, internally trimmed zener reference, undervoltage lock-out with hysteresis, integrated start-up supply, avalanche rugged capability, overtemperature protection, low stand-by current, and adjustable current limitation. Typical applications include offline power supplies with secondary power capability up to 25W in wide range conditions and 50W in single range or doubler configuration, using about 50% fewer components than discrete solutions.
