The CD54/74HC161, CD54/74HCT161, CD54/74HC163, and CD54/74HCT163 are high-speed CMOS presettable synchronous counters featuring look-ahead carry logic for high-speed counting and two count enable inputs (PE and TE) for n-bit cascading. They offer synchronous counting and parallel loading with clock. The 'HC161 and 'HCT161 have asynchronous reset, while the 'HC163 and 'HCT163 have synchronous reset. These devices operate over a wide temperature range (-55°C to 125°C) with low power consumption compared to LSTTL. HC types operate from 2V to 6V with high noise immunity, and HCT types are compatible with LSTTL and CMOS inputs at 4.5V to 5.5V.
