    KYOCERA AVX high voltage MLC chip capacitors meet performance characteristics for high voltage systems and are designed for applications such as snubbers in high frequency power converters, resonators in SMPS, and high voltage coupling/DC blocking. These capacitors exhibit low ESR at high frequencies. Larger physical sizes are used, requiring special surface mount assembly precautions including controlled temperature gradients (≤4°C/s) and preheat temperatures within 50°C of peak soldering temperature. Chip sizes 1210 and larger require reflow soldering only. Protective surface coating may be needed to prevent external arcing. Leaded versions are available for 1825, 2225, and 3640 sizes.
