KYOCERA AVX high voltage MLC chip capacitors deliver high value, low leakage, and small size for demanding high-voltage systems. Designed for snubbers in high-frequency power converters, resonators in SMPS, and high-voltage coupling/DC blocking applications, these capacitors exhibit low ESR at high frequencies. Larger physical sizes are used to achieve high-voltage ratings, requiring specific SMT assembly precautions including controlled temperature gradients (≤4°C/sec) and preheat within 50°C of peak soldering temperature. Sizes 1210 and larger require reflow soldering only. Protective coatings may be needed to prevent external arcing. Leaded versions are available for 1825, 2225, and 3640 case sizes.
