KYOCERA AVX special high voltage MLC chip capacitors are designed for high voltage systems requiring high value, low leakage, and small size. They exhibit low ESRs at high frequencies and are suitable for applications such as snubbers in high frequency power converters, resonators in SMPS, and high voltage coupling/dc blocking. Larger physical sizes are used to achieve high voltage ratings, and special precautions are required for surface mount assembly, including controlled temperature gradients and preheat temperatures. Protective surface coating may be needed to prevent external arcing. Leaded versions are available for specific sizes.
