The 8300 Series D Sub Socket Connector features a low-profile design with improved metal strain relief that hooks directly to the metal shell. It is available in open or closed end cover configurations, including preassembled open cover options. The connector accommodates 26 and 28 AWG solid or stranded wires. Insulation is made from Glass Filled Polyester (PBT) with UL 94V-0 flammability rating. Contacts use copper alloy with nickel underplating (50 μ" min) and gold plating (30 μ") on wiping areas. The shell is steel with tin plating, and strain relief is stainless steel (0.016" thick). Electrical specifications include 1A current rating, >1×10⁹Ω insulation resistance at 500V DC, and 1000V RMS withstand voltage at sea level. Operating temperature range is -55°C to +105°C.
