The Adafruit Universal USB / DC / Solar Lithium Ion/Polymer Charger is designed to charge 3.7V/4.2V LiPoly or LiIon batteries from USB, DC, or solar power sources with an input voltage range of 5-10V. It features a smart chip that reduces current draw if input voltage dips under 4.5V, making it a near-MPPT solar charger. Improvements over previous models include a USB Type-C port, up to 1.5A charge rate, up to 10V input (28V protected), regulated load output (never over 4.4V), no stabilization capacitor needed, load sharing to prioritize input power over battery, a Power Good LED, and lower cost. It can be used as a plain USB or DC charger and is optimized for solar projects.
