MAX7000A devices are high-density, high-performance PLDs based on Altera’s second-generation MAX architecture. Fabricated with advanced CMOS technology, the EEPROM-based devices operate with a 3.3-V supply voltage and provide 600 to 10,000 usable gates, in-system programmability via JTAG, pin-to-pin delays as fast as 4.5 ns, and counter speeds of up to 227.3 MHz. They feature MultiVolt I/O interface (3.3V core, 2.5V/3.3V/5.0V I/O tolerance), support hot-socketing, and are available in a wide range of packages including TQFP, PQFP, BGA, PLCC, FineLine BGA, and Ultra FineLine BGA. The devices offer programmable speed/power optimization, programmable macrocell registers, and programmable security bit. They are supported by Altera development systems and are compatible with PCI.
