The MAX6958/MAX6959 are serially interfaced display drivers that drive up to four 7-segment digits (with decimal points) plus four discrete LEDs, or up to 36 discrete LEDs. They feature a 2-wire serial interface (SMBus/I2C compatible), 23mA constant-current LED segment drive, 64-step digital brightness control, slew-rate-limited drivers to reduce EMI, and a low-power shutdown mode. The MAX6959 additionally includes two input ports that can be configured for keyscan, automatically debouncing up to eight switches with n-key rollover and providing an IRQ output. The devices operate from 3V to 5.5V and are specified over the automotive temperature range (-40°C to +125°C).
