    The BCM54880 is a single-chip solution integrating eight 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet and BroadR-Reach transceivers. It supports SGMII and SerDes MAC interfaces, internal 100Ω termination resistors, and enhanced LED driver modes. The device is fully compliant with IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3u, and IEEE802.3ab standards. It features hardware-accelerated CableChecker diagnostics, robust cable-sourced electrostatic discharge tolerance, and support for jumbo packets. The chip enables low-cost, low-power 8-port integration for high-density switches and provides extended reach over one, two, or four pairs of CAT5 or telephony grade cables.
