The HCPL-7850/7851 is a hermetically sealed analog isolation amplifier consisting of a sigma-delta ADC optically coupled to a DAC. It provides accurate, electrically isolated amplification of voltage and current signals, suitable for motor phase current monitoring in high-speed motor drives, offering superior reliability compared to current transformers and Hall-effect sensors. The device operates over the full military temperature range (-55°C to +125°C), is manufactured and tested on a MIL-PRF-38534 certified line, and is available in commercial or MIL-PRF-38534 Class H versions. Key features include high common-mode rejection (8 kV/µs), 5% gain tolerance, 0.1% nonlinearity, low offset voltage, and 100 kHz bandwidth.
