Arria V devices are built on TSMC's 28 nm process technology and include an abundance of hard intellectual property (IP) blocks. They feature power-optimized MultiTrack routing and core architecture with up to 50% lower power consumption than previous generation devices. The family offers improved logic integration with 8-input adaptive logic module (ALM), up to 38.38 Mb of embedded memory, and variable-precision DSP blocks. Key advantages include lowest static power in its class, increased bandwidth capacity with serial data rates up to 12.5 Gbps, hard memory controllers, and a hard processor system (HPS) with integrated dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore processor. Devices are available in thermal composite flip chip BGA packaging with multiple densities and identical footprints for seamless migration. Configuration options include Configuration via Protocol (CvP) and design security features.
