The MAX 7000B family consists of high-density, high-performance EEPROM-based programmable logic devices built on second-generation Multiple Array MatriX (MAX) architecture. These devices offer 600 to 10,000 usable gates, 32 to 512 macrocells, and pin-to-pin delays as fast as 3.5 ns with counter frequencies exceeding 303.0 MHz. They feature advanced 2.5-V in-system programmability (ISP) via JTAG interface, MultiVolt I/O interface supporting 3.3-V, 2.5-V, and 1.8-V logic levels, programmable power-saving mode for up to 50% power reduction, and support for advanced I/O standards including SSTL-2, SSTL-3, and GTL+. The devices are PCI compatible, include programmable security bits, built-in boundary-scan test circuitry, and support hot-socketing operation. They utilize programmable interconnect array (PIA) for fast predictable performance and offer configurable expander product-term distribution allowing up to 32 product terms per macrocell.
