The SP1490E and SP1491E are full-duplex differential transceivers meeting RS-485 and RS-422 requirements. Fabricated with Exar's BiCMOS process, they require less power than older bipolar designs. Both feature ±200mV receiver input sensitivity over a wide common mode range (-7V to +12V) and fail-safe operation. The SP1490E comes in 8-pin NSOIC, while the SP1491E uses 14-pin NSOIC, supporting commercial and industrial temperature ranges. The SP1491E adds driver/receiver enable lines (DE/REB) for tri-state control.
