The MSC8122 is a Quad Core 16-Bit Digital Signal Processor featuring four SC140 extended cores running at up to 500 MHz, delivering up to 8000 MMACS performance. It includes 1436 KB of internal SRAM (224 KB per core, 16 KB ICache per core, and 476 KB shared M2 memory), a 4 KB bootstrap ROM, and a multi-channel DMA controller. The device integrates various interfaces: RS-232 UART, four TDM interfaces, Ethernet controller (MII/RMII/SMII), GPIO, timers, and hardware semaphores. It supports flexible memory controller with eight external banks, direct slave interface (DSI), and 60x-compatible system bus. The MSC8122 is designed for low power dissipation with separate power supplies for internal logic (1.2 V or 1.1 V) and I/O (3.3 V), and comes in a 431-ball FC-PBGA package (20 mm x 20 mm).
