The ICS280 is a field programmable spread spectrum clock synthesizer that generates up to four high-frequency clock outputs from a low-frequency crystal input. It replaces multiple crystals, oscillators, and standalone spread spectrum devices, saving board space and cost. The device features an OTP ROM for field programmability using IDT's VersaClock software, allowing configuration of input/output frequencies, spread spectrum modulation, and eight selectable configuration registers. It operates using Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) techniques and is available in factory programmed custom versions for high-volume applications.
