KD1084AD2M33R Description

The KD1084 is a LOW DROP Voltage Regulator capable of delivering output currents of up to 5A. At the highest output current, dropout is assumed to occur at a maximum of 1.5V, with a decreasing value at lower loads. The KD1084 has higher performances in terms of drop and output tolerance yet is pin-to-pin compatible with the earlier 3-terminal adjustable regulators.

SCSI-2active termination is compatible with a 2.85V output version. As opposed to PNP regulators, which squander some of the output currents as quiescent current, the KD1084 regulator's quiescent current flows directly into the load, increasing efficiency. For stability, only a 10 F minimum capacitor is required. The devices come in TO-220, D2PAK, D2PAK/A, and DPAK packaging. The regulator can achieve an output voltage tolerance of just 2% at 25°C for the regular version and 1% at 25°C for the "A" version by trimming on the chip.
