KD1084ADT18 Description

A LOW DROP voltage regulator with a 5A maximum output current capacity is the KD1084ADT18. At the highest output current, dropout is guaranteed to occur at a maximum of 1.5V; it gets smaller at lower loads. The KD1084ADT18 provides higher drop and output tolerance performance while still being pin-to-pin compatible with the earlier 3-terminal adjustable regulators.

SCSI-2 active termination is compatible with a 2.85V output version. As opposed to PNP regulators, which squander some of the output current as inactive

Quiescent current from the KD1084ADT18 flows into the load to improve efficiency. For stability, only a 10 μF minimum capacitor is required.

The devices are offered in TO-220, D2PAK, D2PAK/A, and DPAK packaging options. The regulator can achieve an output voltage tolerance of just ±1% at 25°C for the "A" version and ±2% at 25°C for the standard version thanks to on-chip trimming.
