The devices include two independent 4-bit decade ripple counters, each divided into a divide-by-2 and divide-by-5 section with independent clock inputs. They can be configured to divide by 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, or 100. Each counter has individual reset inputs. The devices offer a fanout of 10 LSTTL loads for standard outputs and 15 for bus driver outputs. They operate over a wide temperature range of -55°C to 125°C and have balanced propagation delays and transition times. Compared to LSTTL logic, they consume significantly less power. HC types operate from 2V to 6V with high noise immunity, while HCT types operate from 4.5V to 5.5V and are compatible with LSTTL input logic levels.
