KYOCERA AVX high voltage MLC chip capacitors are designed for applications requiring high value, low leakage, and small size in systems operating from 600V to 5000V. They exhibit low ESR at high frequencies and are suitable for snubbers in high-frequency power converters, resonators in SMPS, and high-voltage coupling/DC blocking. Larger physical sizes require special surface-mount assembly precautions, including controlled temperature gradients (≤4°C/s) and preheat temperatures within 50°C of peak. Sizes 1210 and larger should be reflow soldered only. Protective coatings may be needed to prevent external arcing. Leaded versions are available for 1825, 2225, and 3640 sizes.
