The 3M™ Fiber Optic Splice Case 2178 Series provides robust protection for fiber optic splices in outside plant environments. Constructed from highly chemical-resistant materials, it features a gasket seal for easy reentry and reusable sealing. The closure includes unique strength member clamps to prevent cable sheath movement with temperature changes. Its compact size fits pedestal and handhole installations, ideal for FTTP applications. The design incorporates multi-port grommets for flexible drop or small-diameter cable additions (up to 6 drops). It offers a spacious fiber management area with stackable and hinged trays compatible with various splice types (single/mass fusion, mechanical). Capacities range up to 72 single fusion or 144 mass fusion splices. Flame-retardant variants (FR) meet Telcordia, UL, and global specifications for vault and building use. The system is expandable using cable addition kits.
