The 3M™ Fiber Optic Splice Closure 2178 family provides multiple real-world solutions with five key aspects: a complete product family with seven distinct models (XSB, XLB, S, SL, LS, LL and XL) in both flame-retardant and non-flame-retardant versions; future-proof solutions with scalability and flexibility for system expansion; easily re-enterable designs with reusable gasket and bolted halves; flexible environment applications for aerial, buried, underground, vault and building entrance; and network flexibility with various sizes, materials and configuration options. The closures accommodate cables of varying sizes, provide flexibility to add ports with cable addition kits, and feature a flexible tray system for positionable or fixed splice inserts. They are designed to be easy to install, use, and re-enter, constructed of highly chemical-resistant material, and can be deployed in most applications including buried, underground, and aerial installations.
