The HEDS and HEDM series are optical incremental encoders with two or three channels. They emphasize high reliability, high resolution up to 1024 counts per revolution, and easy assembly. Each encoder contains a lensed LED source, an integrated circuit with detectors and output circuitry, and a codewheel. They operate from a single 5 V supply, are TTL compatible, and have an operating temperature range of -40°C to 100°C for HEDS series and -40°C to 70°C or 85°C for HEDM series.
