The MEC140x/1x family incorporates a 32-bit MIPS32 M14K Microcontroller core with closely-coupled SRAM for code and data. It features a secure boot-loader to download custom firmware from an external SPI Flash. The devices can communicate with the system host via LPC, eSPI, or I2C interfaces (product dependent). They can operate as standalone I/O devices or as EC Base Components using BC-Link. The family is powered by VBAT and VTR suspend supplies and senses VCC for instant-on and power management. It supports low-power states and Connected Standby. The devices include a Trace FIFO Debug port, a host accessible serial debug port, a Port 80 BIOS Debug Port, and an ICSP interface for software development.
