Such microwave acoustic devices utilize conversion between electromagnetic and mechanical energy by use of the piezoelectric effect, which facilitates miniature filter solutions in modern electronic systems. Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) devices can be realized as bandpass and bandstop filter solutions, delay lines and resonators.
