The WinPath3 integrates control plane and enhanced data plane processing components. Control plane processing is based on two high-performance MIPS 34K multi-threaded processors. Data plane processing uses new hardware accelerators for packet classification, hierarchical shaping, additional security standards and more. It features up to 12 RISC processors and 64 concurrent hardware threads at up to 450 MHz, providing up to 10 Gbit/s simplex Ethernet performance. The device includes extensive interfaces such as 10 GbE, TDM/SDH up to OC-48, PCIe, integrated SERDES, and flexible DDR and Flash memory controllers. It supports a broad set of protocols for wireline and wireless systems, with royalty-free data path software and a C-language API for rapid integration.
