The MSC8126 is a quad digital signal processor based on four StarCore SC140 DSP extended cores. It features 224 Kbyte of internal SRAM M1 memory, 16-way 16 Kbyte instruction cache, 475 Kbyte M2 memory for critical data, and a 4 Kbyte boot ROM. It includes a multi-core MQBus, a 60x-compatible system bus, a direct slave interface (DSI), a flexible memory controller, a multi-channel DMA controller, up to four independent TDM modules, an Ethernet controller (10/100 Mbps), UART, up to 32 GPIO ports, I2C interface, two timer modules, eight hardware semaphores, and a global interrupt controller. It supports various boot options and has VCOP and TCOP for specific standards like 3GPP and CDMA2000.
