LinkSwitch-TN integrates a 700 V power MOSFET, oscillator, simple On/Off control scheme, high-voltage switched current source, frequency jittering, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and thermal shutdown circuitry into a monolithic IC. It replaces linear and capacitor-fed power supplies with higher efficiency and lower component count. Features include auto-restart fault protection (LNK304-306), frequency jittering for EMI reduction (~10 dB), universal input voltage (85-265 VAC), buck/buck-boost/flyback topology support, and EcoSmart energy efficiency (50/80 mW no-load consumption in buck topology). The device derives operating power directly from the DRAIN pin, eliminating external bias supplies.
