PFS7635H [Power Integrations]

The HiperPFS-4 devices integrate a CCM boost PFC controller, gate driver, and 600 V power MOSFET in a single package. They eliminate external current sense resistors and use an innovative control technique that adjusts switching frequency over output load, input line voltage, and input line cycle. This maximizes efficiency over the entire load range, especially at light loads, and minimizes EMI filtering requirements. The devices feature advanced digital techniques for line monitoring, line feed-forward scaling, and power factor enhancement, while analog techniques maintain low no-load power consumption. Key features include an integrated non-linear error amplifier for enhanced load transient response, user programmable Power Good (PG) signal, and user selectable power limit. Comprehensive protection features include UV, OV, brown-in/out, hysteretic thermal shutdown, cycle-by-cycle current limit, Safe Operating Area (SOA) protection, and pin-to-pin short-circuit protection. The variable frequency continuous conduction mode (VF-CCM) minimizes switching losses and reduces component count and board footprint compared to discrete designs. Suitable for applications from 75 W to 405 W universal input and up to 610 W high-line only.
