The VIPer50A-E/ASP-E is a primary-side integrated circuit for switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), featuring a high-voltage vertical power MOSFET (700V/1.5A) and a state-of-the-art PWM controller on a single chip. It supports adjustable switching frequency up to 200 kHz, current mode control, soft start and shutdown, automatic burst mode for stand-by operation, internal trimmed zener reference, undervoltage lock-out with hysteresis, integrated start-up supply, over-temperature protection, low stand-by current, and adjustable current limitation. Typical applications include offline power supplies with secondary power capability of 25W in wide range and 50W in single range or doubler configuration, compatible with both primary and secondary regulation loops, reducing component count by about 50% compared to discrete solutions.
