The series includes NPN silicon phototransistors (OP550, OP552, OP555, OP750, OP755, OP770, OP775) and photodarlington transistors (OP560, OP565) molded in epoxy packages with wide receiving angle for even reception. Features include side-looking package for easy PCBoard mounting, choice of clear, opaque, or blue-tinted packages, and four sensitivity levels (A, B, C, D). The OP552 has an opaque package for visible light immunity. The blue-tinted package devices have a 28° acceptance half-angle. Devices are tested with infrared light for correlation with OPTEK's GaAs and GaAIAs emitters and are spectrally matched to OP140, OP142, OP145, OP240, OP245 series.
