OPB732 and OPB732WZ are non-contact reflective object sensors using an infrared LED and phototransistor in a reflective switch configuration. The assembly is offered with either PCBoard through hole pins (OPB732) or 24" (610 mm), 26 AWG wires (OPB732WZ). It uses an opaque housing to reduce ambient light sensitivity and a clear window for dusty environments. The phototransistor can be configured as Common Collector or Common Emitter. When an object is in the reflective path, IR light from the LED is reflected to the phototransistor, turning it ON and providing a collector current proportional to the light. Without reflection, the phototransistor turns OFF.
