EPC devices are single-chip configuration solutions for Altera FPGAs including ACEX 1K, APEX 20K, APEX II, Arria GX, Cyclone, Cyclone II, FLEX 10K, Mercury, Stratix II, and Stratix II GX. They contain 4-Mb, 8-Mb, or 16-Mb flash memories for configuration data storage and feature on-chip decompression to almost double the effective configuration density. The devices combine a standard flash die and a controller die in a single stacked chip package. They support an external flash interface for parallel programming and external processor access to unused memory. Features include page mode for remote and local reconfiguration with up to eight configurations, byte-wide fast passive parallel (FPP) configuration mode, and true n-bit concurrent configuration (n=1,2,4,8). The EPC devices are available in 100-pin PQFP and 88-pin UFBGA packages and operate at 3.3 V.
