The MRF24WG0MA/MB modules integrate all RF components including crystal oscillator, bypass and bias passives, MAC, baseband, RF and power amplifier, with hardware support for AES and TKIP (WEP, WPA, WPA2 security). They feature a simple four-wire SPI interface with interrupt, support Infrastructure, Adhoc, and Wi-Fi Direct Client modes, and implement Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) and SoftAP for easy commissioning. Designed for use with Microchip PIC microcontrollers (PIC18, PIC24, dsPIC33, PIC32) via the Microchip TCP/IP stack, they provide regulatory approvals (FCC, IC, ESI) for modular devices, eliminating the need for expensive RF design and regulatory testing. The MRF24WG0MA has an integrated PCB antenna, while the MRF24WG0MB offers an external antenna option with U.FL connector.
