HiperPFS-3 is a highly integrated PFC controller family that combines a continuous conduction mode boost PFC controller, gate driver, ultra-low reverse recovery Qspeed diode, and high-voltage power MOSFET in a single package. It eliminates external current sense resistors and uses innovative variable frequency control to maximize efficiency across the entire load range, particularly at light loads. The devices feature advanced digital techniques for line monitoring, feed-forward scaling, and power factor enhancement while maintaining low no-load power consumption. They include comprehensive protection features such as UV, OV, brown-in/out, thermal shutdown, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and power limiting. The integrated non-linear error amplifier enhances load transient response, and user-programmable Power Good signal and selectable power limit functionality provide design flexibility. The packaging is optimized for high-volume production and eliminates the need for insulating pads or heat-spreaders.
